As our bodies age, we can start suffering from many different kinds of ailments. One affliction that can affect our bodies is arthritis. Arthritis causes the joints to inflame and results in pain, stiffness, and impaired movement ability. There are many different kinds of arthritis including osteo arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis.

Psoriatic arthritis is a kind of inflammatory arthritis that develops in 30 percent of people who suffer from the skin condition known as psoriasis. This specific type of arthritis is a seronegative spondyloarthropathy and more commonly affects women with a tissue type of HLA-B27.

Psoriatic arthritis has many signs and symptoms that can help its sufferers diagnose if they have it or not. Some of the common symptoms of this type of arthritis include pain, swelling, joint stiffness, a warming sensation in the joints, sausage-like swelling in the fingers and toes, change in appearance to a person’s nails, pain in the lower back and above the tailbone, and pain in and around the feet and ankles, especially in the Achilles tendon or in the sole of the foot.

The exact causes of psoriatic arthritis are not known. Many experts think that genetics plays a big role in it.

There are many treatment options that people can seek out to help them deal with their psoriatic arthritis. Some of these treatments include non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and disease modifying antirheumatic drugs. This specific type of drug helps to limit the amount of damage that occurs in the joint due to psoriatic arthritis. A new class of treatment that has just become available is called biological response modifiers. They are derived from living cells and help to make the immune system stronger. Other treatment methods include physical therapy, occupational therapy, natural therapy osteoarthritis, and changes in diet. You can also get help from Limbrel as well.

Maintaining a healthy body weight and getting regular exercise is recommended for people who suffer from psoriatic arthritis. It helps them to keep their body strong and healthy and helps to eliminate pain.

If you suffer from psoriatic arthritis it is not the end of the world. You will still be able to lead a full and healthy life. If you take the proper steps in order to maintain your arthritis, it will not rule your life. You can have a perfectly normal existence and be a person with arthritis as well.
